East China Province Posts Double Digit Growth in Foreign Trade
East China's Zhejiang Province has registered double digit growth in foreign trade of 17.8 percent, the highest growth rate for the third consecutive year in economically developed coastal area.
East China's Zhejiang Province has registered double digit growth in foreign trade of 17.8 percent, the highest growth rate for the third consecutive year in economically developed coastal area.
The growth rate is about 10 percentage points higher than the national average.
According to latest customs statistics, the province exported and imported 32.799 billion U.S. dollars worth of goods last year, up 17.8 percent over the previous year.
The total volume of export valued at 22.97 billion U.S. dollars last year, up 18.2 percent over the previous year, with an annual trade surplus of 13.1 billion U.S. dollars, the second highest in China.
The year 2000 saw export from the province growing by 51.1 percent.
Experts contributed the rapid growth to improved services of government departments and the diversified foreign trade system in the province and competitiveness of products manufactured in Zhejiang.
