The Federal Bureau of Investigation on Monday announced the arrest of a man accused of killing his wife and three children last month and dumping their bodies into the Pacific Ocean.

FBI Spokesman Bill Carter confirmed that authorities have placed in custody Christian Longo, who was put onto the bureau's " Ten Most Wanted Fugitives" list last Friday.

Longo, 27, was captured over the weekend in the outskirts of Cancun, Mexico, local media said, citing law enforcement officials.

Longo is accused of killing his 34-year-old wife and three children with the age of four, three and two, in his home in Newport, Oregon, and then dumping their bodies into two Pacific Coast inlets. Authorities charged Christian Longo with aggravated murder and launched a nationwide manhunt.
