Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said Monday that the incident of a weapon-laden ship that Israel has seized is a "mysterious story," and all information about it is "contradictory."

"Israel changed its story (on the matter) several times ... the whole issue is incomprehensible," Mubarak said at a press conference after the inauguration of the 6th Cairo Telecom 2002 Exhibition of Telecommunications and Satellite Networks, the official MENA news agency reported.

Israel has accused the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) of being behind the alleged smuggling ship seized by Israel in the Red Sea on January 3 with 50 tons of weapons aboard.

The PNA has strongly rejected the Israeli accusations.
