Publicity Official: Favorable Environment Important for 16th Party Congress

Publicity departments nationwide should keep in step with the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee this year, and help create a favorable environment for the 16th national congress of the party, a senior CPC official said recently.

Ding Guangen, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remark at a national congress on publicity, which closed recently.

Ding said that 2002 is of great significance in the history of the party and China.

He said that publicity workers should uphold the banner of DengXiaoping Theory and study President Jiang Zemin's "Three Represent's" thought and July 1 speech.
