The customs in Haikou, capital of south China's Hainan Province, confiscated 250,000 floppy disksillegally bearing the "Sony" trademark.
A company based in Hainan declared to the customs last April it was exporting the disks, worth of 21,750 US dollars. But the customs found that the company labeled the disks with the "Sony" trademark without authorization of Sony Co. based in Japan.
The customs ruled that the company has infringed upon Sony's exclusive trademark right according to the Customs Regulations of the People's Republic of China Concerning the Protection of Intellectual Property.
