40 Shops Burned to Ashes in Pakistan

As many as 40 shops in Landa Bazar situated along Sarwala Rajbah in Faisalabad of Pakistan's Punjab province were reduced to ashes late Thursday night, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan Friday.

As many as 40 shops in Landa Bazar situated along Sarwala Rajbah in Faisalabad of Pakistan's Punjab province were reduced to ashes late Thursday night, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan Friday.

The incident took place when some people used fireworks to celebrate marriage in close vicinity of the Landa Bazar. Some smoldering bits of fireworks fell on a shop, which caught fire.

The fire was so violent that it engulfed the adjoining shops also within few minutes. However, firebrigade rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.

According to estimates, 40 shops were reduced to ashes while the smokes and water guns also hit another 30.
