CPC Congratulates ANC on Founding Anniversary
The Communist Party of China (CPC) has congratulated South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) on its 90th founding anniversary and hailed its achievements in building a new democratic South Africa free of racial discrimination.
The Communist Party of China (CPC) has congratulated South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) on its 90th founding anniversary and hailed its achievements in building a new democratic South Africa free of racial discrimination.
"The ANC has ... scored remarkable achievements in its unremitting struggle for the equal rights of South African people of all ethnic groups and for the creation and building of a new, democratic South Africa," the CPC Central Committee said in a message of congratulations on Sunday.
"Particularly, after the birth of New South Africa, the ANC, asthe ruling party, devoted major efforts to exploring a road of development suited to the specific conditions of South Africa," itadded.
The CPC expressed the hope for closer relations with the ANC onthe basis of the principles of "independence, complete equality, mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs." It said the two parties can learn from each other and share experiences in running their respective parties and governing their respective countries.
The CPC message was read by Chinese Ambassador to South Africa Liu Guijin, who attended the ANC's anniversary celebrations in theeastern city of Durban on Sunday.
