Mobile Phone Firm Cooperates with Equipment Suppliers
Zhejiang Mobile Communication Co., Ltd. in east China is to expand its mobile phone network and upgrade its equipment with the help of brand-name communications equipment suppliers including Motorola, Nokia and Alcatel.

Contracts to this end were signed between the Chinese company and these multinationals Friday, which involve a total investment of 2.3 billion yuan (277 million U.S. dollars).
Zhejiang Mobile will also build more facilities at tourist sites, hotels, department stores and airport terminal buildings across the province, a company executive said Saturday.
The expansion project is aimed to increase the company's capacity to 15 million lines of mobile phones and its base stations to 6,300 which will cover the 11 regions and major highways and airports in the province.
Zhejiang Mobile is the biggest mobile communication company in the province, providing mobile phone services to more than seven million customers and occupying more than 70 percent of the local market.
