Japan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Australia, Hong Kong and Macao have become the top destinations for tourists from Shanghai, according to statistics from major local travel agencies.

As a large number of Shanghai residents want to head to Hong Kong during the holiday, seats on the special tourist trains between the two cites have all been booked.
