The "Three Represents", which say that the CPC always represents China's advanced productivity and culture and the fundamental interests of the Chinese people, is a scientific summary of the Party and a powerful weapon for the Party to win new victories in the new century.

These comments were made by Chinese Vice President Hu Jintao. Hu analyzed the general international situation and urged leading officials of different levels to be clear-minded and increase their abilities to handle complicated political matters.

He stressed the importance of maintaining social stability, calling it a premise for the current reforms and development. He also talked on resolving the problems related to the basic lives of poverty-stricken people, ensuring the full distribution of pensions, and further improving the social security systems for the jobless and low-income families in cities.
