A bus crashed into a stopped truck on an expressway in southwest China, leaving ten people dead and 18 injured on December 24.
Local police said the accident took place in the Jianyang section of the Chengdu-Chongqing expressway.
Police sources said the truck, overloaded with nine tons of coal, double of its capacity, stopped in the overtake lane after having a flat tire. Minutes later a bus carrying 28 passengers crashed into the truck.
Local police and traffic officers rushed to the spot for rescue operations.
Initial investigations found that both drivers were to blame -- the truck driver failed to set any warning sign after the flat tire, while the bus driver did not act properly in face of danger.
