Beijing to Hold Foreign Ministers Conference of Shanghai Co-op Organization

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue announced Tuesday at a press conference that an Irregular Foreign Ministers Conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be held in Beijing on January 7, 2002.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue announced Tuesday at a press conference that an Irregular Foreign Ministers Conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be held in Beijing on January 7, 2002.

Zhang said that the meeting will include discussions on the issues such as the Afghan situation, international anti-terrorism, combating the "three forces" of separatism, terrorism and extremism in the region, as well as the SCO development.

Foreign ministers of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will attend the meeting.
