Asian Junior Table Tennis Championships to Start in HK

The eighth Asian junior under-17 table tennis championships are slated for December 24-29 in Hong Kong, local organizers said on Sunday.

The eighth Asian junior under-17 table tennis championships are slated for December 24-29 in Hong Kong, local organizers said on Sunday.

More than 220 players from Australia, Bahrain, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, China, Iran, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Kuwait, Laos, Macao, China, Malaysia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan,Vietnam, Yemen, Jordan and Turkmenistan will participate in the tournament.

World table tennis powerhouse China will send four male and four female players to the tournament, which had offered a stage to many young talents who eventually became world champions, such as Deng Yaping, Ma Lin, Liu Guoliang, Kong Linghui, and many others, according to the organizers.
