Slovakia, China Sign Agreement on Educational Cooperation

China and Slovakia signed an agreement Friday on educational cooperation during the years 2001-2004 in the Slovak capital of Bratislava, according to reports reaching here. The document was signed by Slovak Minister of Education Milan Ftacnik and Chinese Ambassador to Slovakia Yuan Guisen. A visitingChinese educational delegation was also present at the signing ceremony.

The document was signed by Slovak Minister of Education Milan Ftacnik and Chinese Ambassador to Slovakia Yuan Guisen. A visitingChinese educational delegation was also present at the signing ceremony.

Under the agreement, the two countries will grant scholarships to students on a reciprocal and yearly basis, support the teachingof Chinese and Slovak languages in their universities, encourage academic exchanges between experts and scholars from their academic and educational institutions and conduct visits by relevant educational delegations.

Eleven Chinese students are currently studying in Slovakia, the first batch of Chinese learners of the Slovak language in the Central European country.
