CPC Propaganda Chief Meets Vietnamese Counterpart

Ding Guangen, head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met with Nguyen Khoa Diem, director of the Ideology and Culture Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse Wednesday morning.

Ding Guangen, head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met with Nguyen Khoa Diem, director of the Ideology and Culture Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse Wednesday morning.

Ding, also a member of the Political Bureau and a member of theSecretariat of the CPC Central Committee, said many significant incidents have occurred since China and Vietnam normalized diplomatic relations 10 years ago. He noted the two countries haveachieved plenty results in exchanges and cooperation in the political, economic, scientific, and cultural fields.

He recalled that the recent visit by CPV Central Committee General Secretary Nong Duc Manh to China was a total success.

Ding expressed his confidence in the bright future of Sino-Vietnamese relations. He said the CPC and the government of China are ready to continue to work with the party and government of Vietnam to push forward the relations between them.

Ding pointed out that the two sides share common ideals and goals and that both are faced with similar tasks. Friendship between China and Vietnam is treasured by both parties and countries, he said.

In a complicated and ever-changing international situation, both countries are faced with opportunities and challenges as theyenter a crucial stage of reform and opening up to the outside world, Ding said. Seizing the opportunities, facing the challengesand strengthening cooperation for mutual development are not only the common aspiration of the two peoples, but also the need of thesocialist cause, he added.

Nguyen Khoa Diem, also a member of the Political Bureau and a member of the Secretariat of the CPV Central Committee, said CPC'sexperience in publicity and theoretical work is worth learning.
