Chinese PLA Chief of General Staff Holds Talks With Kyrgyz

Military leaders of the China and Kyrgyzstan agreed in a meeting Monday to work more closely to advance the already strong military ties in the future.

Fu Quanyou, chief of General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, told Kubanychbay Tynaliev, Chief of General Staffof the armed forces of Kyrgyzstan, that the Chinese government values the development of its friendly relations with Kyrgyzstan in various fields, and would like to lift the bilateral ties to a higher level based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and reciprocity, and non-interference of each country's internal affairs.

Fu, who is also a member of the Central Military Commission, said with the progressing of the bilateral relations, the militaryties between the two countries in many fields have been strengthened, noting that the two armies have maintained frequent exchange of high-level visits.

He stressed that China hopes to further expand the existing reciprocal communication and cooperation between the two countries,and to realize a healthy, long-term and stable development of the bilateral military ties.

Tynaliev, who is also the first deputy defense minister, said in recent years the communication and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China have greatly improved, and he hoped that the bilateral relations could be strengthened by increasing the cooperation between the both sides in the future.

He stressed that it is the priority in the development of the armed forces of Kyrgyzstan to conduct military cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The two sides also exchanged views on the issues of anti-terrorism issue and regional and international situations, and other issues of shared concern.

Tynaliev was invited by Fu. Prior to the talks, Fu held a welcome ceremony for him.
