One Killed, 27 Injured at McDonald's Explosion in Northwest China

One man was killed and 27 others injured in an explosion Saturday at a McDonald's chainstore in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province in northwest China.

One man was killed and 27 others injured in an explosion Saturday at a McDonald's chainstore in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province in northwest China.

The explosion occurred at about 6:30 pm, police sources said.

Preliminary investigation by the police shows that the explosion is caused by man-made device.The injured were rushed to local hospitals.

The investigation is underway by the press time.

The ancient city of Xi'an, a former imperial capital, is near the site of the famed terracotta warriors, a major tourist attraction.
