Military officials from a number of countries are meeting in London on Friday, preparing to send troops for an international peacekeeping force in Afghanistan.

Representatives from Britain, France, Germany, Turkey, Spain, Italy and Jordan and other countries are attending the meeting in a bunker at the Ministry of Defense's crisis management center.

"There is nothing yet to be decided. The meeting is to share information on what each country has available and what roles they might play," a spokesman of the Ministry of Defense said.

Britain has already said it is prepared to play the leading role in the force.

No decisions are expected to be made until next week after a small team of British army officers visit Kabul to prepare the way for such a force.
