China Updates WTO-related Economic, Trade Regulations
China is stepping up its efforts to repeal, amend and draft economic and trade regulations related to the country's accession to the World Trade Organization,said an economic official Thursday.
China is stepping up its efforts to repeal, amend and draft economic and trade regulations related to the country's accession to the World Trade Organization,said an economic official Thursday.
Zhang Zhigang, deputy director of the State Economic and Trade Commission (SETC), told a press conference that the SETC has reviewed all 113 departmental rules and regulations promulgated before the end of the year 2000, nullifying 19 and amending 38.
In addition, a group of statutes, including the Anti-monopoly Law, the Regulations on Direct Selling of Foreign-funded Enterprises, the Regulations on Fertilizer Quota Administration, and the Rule on Import of Important Industrial Products, are beingamended, drafted, he said.
Over the past year, the SETC strengthened training of trade andeconomic officials, managers and legal advisers of key enterprises,in a bid to familiarize them with necessary WTO knowledge, he said.
Zhang said the SETC also made efforts to rectify the market economic order so as to create a sound environment for fair business competition.
