Gavel Hammered for China's WTO Accession Housed in Museum
The gavel which was hammered to mark China's official accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO) at the Doha meeting, was given to the Museum ofthe Chinese Revolution Wednesday to be preserved as a historical relic.
The gavel which was hammered to mark China's official accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO) at the Doha meeting, was given to the Museum ofthe Chinese Revolution Wednesday to be preserved as a historical relic.
The gavel was brought back from Doha by the Beijing Daily Newspapers Group. Representatives from the company gave the gavel to Xia Yanyue, curator of the museum at a ceremony today.
Staff with the museum said that the gavel is as an important symbol of the historic moment and will be included in an upcoming exhibition on the process of China's WTO entry.
The museum is home to items that represent the turning points of China's contemporary history.
