World Wushu Championships Keeps Clean Record in First Doping Test

The 6th world wushu championships has registered clean record as all the 12 samples returned no positive results, said a lab accredited by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

It is the first time that doping tests were conducted at the world championships of the sport, and the International Wushu Federation set up a medical commission last year and formulated rules of doping test in accordance with the Olympic Movement anti-doping Code.

China Doping Control Center, one of the laboratories accreditedby the IOC, conducted the doping test of the world championships, which was held early in November at Armenia, and confirmed the result at its analytical report.

Wushu, or martial arts, is a traditional sport of China. The report said that all A samples were opened and screened fordiuretics, for beta-blockers, for narcotics, for stimulants, for anabolic agents, including the T/ET ratio, for hCG (only in Males)and for LH ( only in Males). The analysis was finished on November 12.
