China's Industry Up 7.9 Percent in November
China had a 7.9 percent growthin industrial production in November, with monthly value added hitting 238.9 billion yuan (28.8 billion U.S. dollars), the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Tuesday.

The growth rate was 0.9 percentage points lower than the previous month, mainly because of a slowdown in the four sectors manufacturing electronics and telecom equipment, electric machinery and equipment, beverage, and transportation equipment, the NBS said.
NBS figures show the accumulated sum of industrial value added reached 2,431.8 billion yuan (293 billion U.S. dollars) for the past 11 months, which rose by 10 percent from a year earlier.
In November, the NBS said, the production of mobile telecom equipment dumped by 74.7 percent on a year-on-year basis, along with a downturn in that of color TV sets, personal computers, optical telecom equipment, program-controlled telephone switches, beepers, washing machines and refrigerators.
The growth rate of soft and carbonic drinks dropped by 7.7 and 7.6 percentage points, respectively, from the previous month, while that of automobiles fell by 7.2 percentage points.
However, the export of industrial products continued to grow inNovember. NBS figures show 139.3 billion yuan (16.8 billion U.S. dollars) worth of industrial products were delivered for export inNovember, an increase of 7.5 percent year-on-year. The growth ratewas 0.6 percentage points higher than in the previous month, posting the fourth consecutive monthly rally.
