2002 China Tourism Focuses on 100 Folk Cultural Items
Over 100 Folk Cultural Items have been selected as the focus of China's tourism next year. This is the first time that the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) has combined folk culture with tourism in organizing activities. The main cultural items include Chinese opera, Chinese handicrafts, Chinese sculpture and grottoes and Chinese gardening.

Chinese folk culture, originating from its rich culture and mass population, will be favored by the whole world, said He Guangwei, director of CNTA.
He said, China's tourism themes in 2002 will offer chances for foreign visitors to appreciate the unique taste of Chinese folk culture. And the series of activities will help promote the development of China's tourism industry by expanding the variety of tourism products.
