Chinese Photo Exhibition Opens in Iraq
A week-long photo exhibition featuring natural and cultural heritages in China opened in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Saturday to mark the 30th anniversary of the resumption of China's legitimate seat at the United Nations.
A week-long photo exhibition featuring natural and cultural heritages in China opened in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Saturday to mark the 30th anniversary of the resumption of China's legitimate seat at the United Nations.
On display were 60 pictures which characterized China's natural and cultural heritages widely recognized in the world.
"The exhibition is aimed at introducing China's natural and cultural heritages to the Iraqi people to strengthen cultural exchanges between the two countries with ancient civilizations," Chinese Ambassador to Iraq Zhang Weiqiu said at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
He said that the Chinese embassy will hold various cultural exhibitions in Iraq in the future to promote friendship between thetwo peoples.
China resumed its legitimate U.N. seat in October 1971.
Iraqi Minister of Culture Hamed Yussef Humadi also attended the opening ceremony.
In September, a Chinese bronze ware exhibition was held in Baghdad.
