China's Internet Links Significantly Improved
China's Internet links improved significantly in the first nine months of the year, according to a report recently released by the China Internet Network Information Center.
The report also says that some non-profit network operators have set themselves up as commercial organizations because they are eager to use their network resources to profit from the rapid development of the Internet in China.

The report, first one on the Internet band width, says that outgoing Internet links from China rose from 2,799 megabytes in January to 5,724 megabytes by the end of September.
Experts said that the figure indicates the fast development of Internet infrastructure and China's increasingly close connection with the world.
China Telecom
China Telecom, the biggest Chinese telecommunications operators, still leads its peers with about 80 percent of China's total international exit band width at 4,850 megabytes.

China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC for short) was founded on Jun. 3rd 1997. It is a nonprofit-making organization of administration and service, performing duties of National Internet Network Information Center. The run and management work of CNNIC is done by Computers Network Information Center of Chinese Academy of Science. In scope of business, CNNIC is under the leading of Ministry of Information Industry, and administratively it is under the leading of Chinese Academy of Science. Statistics on Internet development in China, including the total number of hosts and users, user geographic distribution, traffic pattern, and domain name registration etc, are very significant and valuable in helping government agencies and commercial enterprises in making their policy and business decisions.
