One of the sons of Osama bin Laden may have been killed in U.S.-led military strikes in Afghanistan, the Cable News Network (CNN) reported Wednesday.
The report quoted intelligence sources as saying that an older son of bin Laden, suspected by the U.S. as the mastermind behind the terror attacks on Washington and New York on September 11, waskilled in recent U.S. airstrikes.
U.S. officials have not confirmed the report yet. Bin Laden has 23 children and 14 of them are sons.
U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Tuesday that he believes bin Laden himself is still in Afghanistan.
