Kenyan Minister Meets Chinese Information Delegation

Kenyan Minister for Tourism and Information Kalonzo Musyoka reaffirmed on Tuesday that Kenya would continue to stick to One China policy.

Kenyan Minister for Tourism and Information Kalonzo Musyoka reaffirmed on Tuesday that Kenya would continue to stick to One China policy.

Musyoka made the remarks at his office when he met with Chinese Vice Minister Cai Mingzhao of China's State Council Information Office and the delegation led by him.

The Kenyan minister said the Kenya-China relations are truly well and the exchange of high-level visits by leaders of Kenya and China is a testimony of rapid development of their bilateral relations.

He noted that he had visited China on six occasions, which have left him deep impression on China's development.

Musyoka hoped the two countries to further strengthen their cooperation in the economic, tourism and information fields, among others.

He said that there existed a huge potential in developing tourism industry between the two countries. Kenya welcomes more Chinese to visit the country and view the wildlife, the national parks and Kenyan cultures, he added.

Musyoka also spoke highly of the cooperation between the Kenya News Agency and China's Xinhua.

The Chinese vice minister said both China and Kenya are developing countries with similar past experiences. Thus there are broad prospects for the two countries to enhance cooperation and exchanges in the information area.

He noted the Chinese government has always encouraged the Chinese media to conduct the intercourse with their counterparts in various countries.

The increased exchanges between the media organizations of China and Kenya would help to promote the understanding between the peoples of the two countries, and also be beneficial to common economic development, he added.

The Chinese delegation arrived in Nairobi on Monday for a five-day visit before leaving here for Tunisia on Friday.
