Senior CPC Official Meets Brazilian Guests

Jia Qinglin, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met Tuesday with a group of Brazilian guests.

Jia Qinglin, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met Tuesday with a group of Brazilian guests.

The group is headed by Olivio de Oliveira Dutra, a leader of the Workers' Party of Brazil and the governor of Brazil's southernRio Grande do Sul state.

Jia, also secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of CPC, said Dutra's visit will promote friendly ties between the two parties and the two countries. He expressed the hope that both will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the future.

Dutra said his state and Beijing enjoy great prospects for further cooperation in trade, technology and culture, and he expects that more Chinese entrepreneurs will invest in Brazil.

Present at the meeting were Cai Wu, deputy head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and AlfonsoCelso de Ouro Preto, Brazil's ambassador to China.
