Chinese Vice President Meets Vietnamese Party Chief
Strengthening cooperation and exchanging experiences between the communist parties of China and Vietnam will help with party building and construction of the two countries, Chinese Vice President Hu Jintao said Saturday.
Strengthening cooperation and exchanging experiences between the communist parties of China and Vietnam will help with party building and construction of the two countries, Chinese Vice President Hu Jintao said Saturday.
Hu, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remark at a meeting here with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nong Duc Manh.
Hu said the talks between Chinese President Jiang Zemin with Manh on Friday laid an even stronger basis for the development of relations between the two parties and countries in the new century.
Hu pointed out that both the CPC and CPV are ruling parties in their own countries and share common ideals and objectives. He said that the two parties have been supportive of each other since the struggle for national independence and liberation.
Noting that both parties are facing similar challenges and tasks in the socialist construction and the reform and opening drive, Hu said the CPC and CPV should further increase exchanges and cooperation at all levels and in all fields.
Hu also briefed Manh on the study of the "Three Represent's" among CPC members.
Manh said that the presence of the CPC delegation headed by Hu at the 9th National Congress of the CPV in Vietnam last April was a strong encouragement for his party. He said that his current China visit is aimed at carrying on the fine tradition of high-level meetings between the two parties and promoting the friendly cooperative relations between the countries.
