China is expected to continue leading the world in trademark registration this year.
A source with the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) said here Friday that the number of valid trademarks registered during the first 10 months of this year topped 155,600, the largest number in the world.
China took the lead in trademark registration last year, with nearly 160,000 trademarks registered during the year, bringing the total number of valid trademarks in the country to 1.25 million.
The SAIC source said that great changes have taken place in trademark registration in China since 1979. Before that, the country had only about 30,000 valid trademarks.
