Chinese Officials Told to Serve People Dutifully
A senior Chinese official has told leading cadres at all levels to put the interests of the people above everything else and serve the people dutifully.
Wei Jianxing, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remark while attending a meeting in Beijing Friday.
Wei, also secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, said that leading cadres at all levels should play an exemplary role in studying and implementing Chinese President Jiang Zemin's thought of "Three Represent's" that the CPC represents the need to develop advanced productive forces, an orientation towards advanced culture, and the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people in China.
All leading cadres should be clean and honest and deal with official affairs impartially, Wei stressed, adding that they must take the lead in adhering to and continuing the fine Party style.
