Vietnamese Party Chief Starts China Tour

Nong Duc Manh, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam arrived in Beijing Friday noon, kicking off his five-day official and goodwill visit to China.

Nong Duc Manh, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam arrived in Beijing Friday noon, kicking off his five-day official and goodwill visit to China.

Manh is paying the visit at the invitation of Jiang Zemin, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China.

Besides Beijing, Manh will also visit Xi'an, home of terra-cotta warriors, and Ningbo, a port city in east China's Zhejiang Province.
