Israeli sources said that one Palestinian walked closer to an Israeli army tank, and when asked to stop he did not reply, so Israeli troops opened fire and killed him.
Meanwhile, Palestinian security sources said that they were informed by the Israeli side that the Israeli army have the body of a Palestinian who was killed near the settlement south of Gaza City. In another development on Wednesday, one Palestinian was seriously wounded and three others lightly after Israeli troops opened fire at a group of Palestinian gunmen on the borders between Rafah town and Israel in southern Gaza Strip, said Palestinian and Israeli sources.
The seriously-wounded one was captured by Israeli soldiers, while the other three managed to run away, they added. Eyewitnesses told Xinhua that they heard a huge explosion, which was followed by intensive gunfire near Sofa commercial crossing on the southeast borders between Gaza Strip and Israel. Palestinian security officials told Xinhua that they were informed by the Israeli side to send a Palestinian ambulance to take one of the Palestinians who was seriously injured.
However, Israeli army sources said that the wounded Palestinian was taken by an Israeli army helicopter to the Israeli hospital of Soroka in Beer Sheva in southern Israel. They said that Israeli troops opened fire at a group of Palestinian gunmen who were walking close to the settlement of Kerem Shalom near Sofa commercial passage. One was injured and taken to an Israeli hospital, while the other three managed to escape, they added.
