Annual Ad Revenue Totals 71 Billion Yuan

China's booming advertisement industry posted RMB71.2 billion yuan (US$8.5 billion dollars) in revenue by last year with about 640,000 employees working for 70,000 ad companies and agencies, official statistics revealed.

Professional ad agencies have mushroomed during the past several years owing to improved awareness of advertising power and rapid economic growth.

  • By the end of last year, the administration had registered 40,000 professional ad companies, which reported 31.7 billion yuan (3.8 billion U.S. dollars) in total revenue, or 44.5 percent of the country's total.
