Nissan to Recall 66 Cars in China

Japan's Nissan Motors Co., Ltd. will recall the 66 cars (only Sunny N16 involved) it sold in China between February and July 15 last year, because of defective engine sensors, said the company's representative in Beijing Monday.

    The car models to be recalled from the Chinese market for inspection and overhaul only involve Sunny N16.

  • Nissan announced last Thursday that it needs to recall 296,986 vehicles in nine models to check for possible short circuit in engine sensor joints, which could cause the engine to break down.

    About Sunny N 16

    N16 was customised to suit the local environment. The Japanese engineers had considered recommendations by their local agent when building the car.

    It looks like a sports model and has an engine more powerful than its predecessor's. It is also equipped with an airbag for the driver.

    According to local road tests, the car has an improved fuel consumption efficiency of 16 km a litre. The model is available in 1,300 cc and 1,600cc engine capacities.
