Pakistani President to Visit China

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf will visit China within this year at the invitation of Chinese President Jiang Zemin, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue confirmed the news Tuesday.

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf will visit China within this year at the invitation of Chinese President Jiang Zemin, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue confirmed the news Tuesday.

She told a regular press conference that China and Pakistan arestill discussing the agenda related to Musharraf's visit through diplomatic channel, and the Chinese Foreign Ministry will make formal announcement at a proper time.

Zhang also said that Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Yi leftMonday for Pakistan to attend the annual consultation between Chinese and Pakistani Foreign Ministries. During the consultation,the two sides will exchange views on bilateral relations, the Afghan issue and other matters of common concern.
