Libya's Ghaddafi Global Federation of Charity Associations (GFCA) decided on Tuesday to send envoys to Afghanistan to help mediate a peaceful settlement in the war-torn Asian country.

The Libyan News Agency quoted a message sent by the GFCA to United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan as saying that it was ready to mediate the evacuation of the injured and sick people, and bloodless disarmament in Afghanistan.

"The disarmament process could take place under the auspices of the GFCA, the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross," the message said.

"We call for concerted efforts to evacuate the non-Afghan groups in Afghanistan and send them back to their homes as they have nothing to do with what is going on in Afghanistan," it added.
