A light airplane crashed into an industrial neighborhood in eastern Australia on Tuesday, killing all four people on board, authorities said.
Queensland Fire and Rescue Authority district operations chief Paul Evans said the plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Toowoomba Airport. The impact left burning wreckage strewn across a road running between factories.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
Senior officials from Queensland state's health department were believed to be among the dead, state Health Minister Wendy Edmond said.
As the plane plunged to the ground, it apparently clipped power lines, cutting electricity to about 5,000 homes in Toowoomba, a town on the western edge of Brisbane, capital of Queensland state.
