Anthrax Claims 479 Cattle in India in Three Years

Anthrax in cattle was sporadic in India in the endemic areas with 476 deaths reported inthe last three years, it was officially confirmed on Monday.

Anthrax in cattle was sporadic in India in the endemic areas with 476 deaths reported inthe last three years, it was officially confirmed on Monday.

In a written reply to an inquiry by some parliament members, Minister of State for Agriculture Hukumdeo Narayan Yadav asked thestate governments to be more vigilant and to take necessary preventive measures to control the disease. The parliament was also informed that there had been no declinein the number of migratory birds visiting the country as a result of the on-going war in Afghanistan.
