Chinese Vice Premier Qian Qichen met Monday with Samuel R. Berger, former US National Security Advisor.

The two sides exchanged views on Sino-US relations and other issues of common concern.

Qian said that Sino-US relations have had positive development recently, and have the potential for further improvement. Both sides should work together to better develop bilateral relations and reduce friction as much as possible, he said.

Berger said that US-China relations have witnessed improvement recently, and the bilateral relationship is moving along a correct path.

The US and China have broad common interest in securities, economics and other fields, and bilateral cooperation should be expanded, Berger said.
