Howard Sworn In for Third Term of Prime Ministership

John Howard was sworn in Monday for his third term of the Australian prime minitership. He was sworn in by Governor-General Peter Hollingworth, the representative of the symbolic head of the nation, Queen Elizabeththe second.

John Howard was sworn in Monday for his third term of the Australian prime minitership. He was sworn in by Governor-General Peter Hollingworth, the representative of the symbolic head of the nation, Queen Elizabeththe second.

According to the Australian Associated Press, Deputy Prime Minister John Anderson, Treasurer Peter Costello and other members of the new cabinet. Howard's coalition won 51 percent of votes in the general election on November 10. He announced the formation of his new government on Friday.

The prime minister said after the election that he would hold on his tough stance on boat people and the industrial relation reform. He hinted his government would focus on economic problems because of the serious challenge.
