Canadian Delegation Visits Guizhou

A five-member delegation fromthe Canadian International Development Agency Friday started a three-day visit to southwest China's Guizhou Province. The visit is aimed at studying the province's implementation ofChina's strategy for the development of its western areas and seeking possibilities for Canadian aid.

A five-member delegation fromthe Canadian International Development Agency Friday started a three-day visit to southwest China's Guizhou Province.

The visit is aimed at studying the province's implementation ofChina's strategy for the development of its western areas and seeking possibilities for Canadian aid.

Provincial Vice Governor Mo Shiren met here Friday evening withthe delegation, led by Han Sing Yse, deputy head of the Agency.

Mo briefed the visitors on the province's development, including the implementation of the strategy for the development of China's western areas.

He said that Guizhou boasts rich resources, making it an attraction for many foreign investors.

It is learned that the province has had a total of 14 Canada-invested joint ventures with a contracted foreign investment of over 79 million US dollars, over two million of which has been putinto the joint ventures.
