Chinese Vice President Meets Kyrgyz FM

Chinese Vice President Hu Jintao on Friday praised the consistent support of Kyrgyzstan on the issues of Taiwan and combating the "East Turkistan" terrorist forces in talks with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Muratbek Sansyzbayevich Yimanaliyev.

Chinese Vice President Hu Jintao on Friday praised the consistent support of Kyrgyzstan on the issues of Taiwan and combating the "East Turkistan" terrorist forces in talks with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Muratbek Sansyzbayevich Yimanaliyev.

Hu said that China and Kyrgyzstan are good neighbors, and the traditional friendship between the two countries have developed further since they forged diplomatic ties 10 years ago.

He added that China will, as always, support the efforts of Kyrgyzstan in safeguarding national independence, sovereignty and security, and in developing national economy, and would like to further the cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all fields.

Hu said that China, as a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, has closely watched the situation in the Middle Asian region, and is ready to work with all the members of the organization to promote its role in combating terrorism and safeguarding regional security, stability and development.

Yimanaliyev said that Kyrgyzstan values its relations with China, which is not only Kyrgystan's good friend, but also guarantees security and stability of Kyrgyzstan and the Middle Asian region.

He said that it is important for Kyrgyzstan and China to enhance cooperation, especially in the field of security.

Kyrgyzstan is ready to work with China and other members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to safeguard regional peace, security and stability, as well as promote regional economic cooperation, he said.
