Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Wednesday with major delegates of the Ninth China-Japan Economic Seminar.
Zhu said that the meeting, with the theme of China's Accession into the World Trade Organization and Sino-Japanese Economic Cooperation in the 21st Century, is a meaningful convention.
The year 2002 will see the 30th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic ties between China and Japan. Zhu hoped the economic and journalistic circles of the two countries further strengthen exchanges so as to promote the development of Sino-Japanese economic cooperation and the improvement of bilateral ties.
The high-level meeting was jointly sponsored by China's People's Daily and Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nippon Economic News).
