9th Sino-Japanese Economic Symposium Opens in Tianjin
The 9th Sino-Japanese Economic Symposium co-sponsored by the People's Daily and Nihon Keizai Shimbun (NIKKEI) of Japan opens Tuesday at the Economic - Technological Development Area in Tianjin.
9th Sino-Japanese Economic Symposium Opens in Tianjin
The 9th Sino-Japanese Economic Symposium co-sponsored by the People's Daily and Nihon Keizai Shimbun (NIKKEI) of Japan opens Tuesday at the Economic- Technological Development Area in Tianjin.
The main theme of the symposium is : China's Entry into the WTO and Sino-Japanese economic cooperation in the 21st century.
Premier Zhu Rongji and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi sent congratulatory messages to the symposium.
Chinese representatives attending the symposium are Yu Xiaosong, president of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade; Liu Mingkang, chairman and president of Bank of China; Zhu Yanfeng, general manager of China FAW (First Automobile Works) Group and Li Shenglin, mayor of Tianjin
Japanese representatives are Noboru Hatakeyama, chairman of JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization ) Council; Fujio Cho, president of TOYOTA Motor Corp. and Tadashi Sekizawa, chairman of Fujitsu Limited.
Xu Zhongtian, president of People's Daily and Takuhiko Tsuruta, president of NIKKEI met with Chinese and Japanese representatives Monday evening. Zhang Lichang, secretary of CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee also met with them.
