Synchronized Diving Golds Produced in China's National Games

Lao Lishi, bronze-medalist in the women's individual platform diving event Thursday in Shantou, teamed with new face Li Zhenzhen to win for hosts Guangdong Province the women's synchronized platform diving title at China's national games here on Monday.

Lao Lishi, bronze-medalist in the women's individual platform diving event Thursday in Shantou, teamed with new face Li Zhenzhen to win for hosts Guangdong Province the women's synchronized platform diving title at China's national games here on Monday.

The duet scored a total of 354.00 points for the top honor.

Tianjin's Olympic champion and former World Cup winner Sang Xue paired with Meng Wenqiao to take the silver with 325.62, followed by Guangxi twin sisters Li Yao and Li Ting for the bronze with 324.06.

Li Na of Beijing, Sang's Olympic champion partner in Sydney, and Wang Rui, two-time World Cup winner and fourth placer for the earlier platform event here, had to settle for the fourth place, with 312.33.

Former World Cup winner Wang Tianliang and his Shanghai teammate Song Dinghui led throughout the final to take the men's synchronized three-meter springboard title with a total score of 370.31 points.

Cheng Jiaming and Xu Hao, representing Jiangsu Province, finished second with 354.96 and Guangdong veteran divers Sun Shuwei and Yu Zhuocheng took the bronze medal with 343.05.
