The China Welfare Lottery Center will run a two million yuan (about 240,000 U.S. dollars) lottery to celebrate the Spring Festival (Chinese Lunar New Year) and the Lantern Festival, which will take place in mid-February next year.
The lottery, highlighting a holiday celebration for the first time, will be available in 50 major cities across China from late November this year to early March next year, according to a center official.
The lottery tickets will be available at the center's sale chains in major cities and will be drawn live on television, the official added.
Among the lottery tickets, 20,000 will be elegantly designed for keepsakes.
