China Publishes Album of Foreign State Leaders on Great Wall

A photo album featuring pictures of 300 foreign state leaders visiting the Great Wall at Badaling has been published in Beijing Friday.

A photo album featuring pictures of 300 foreign state leaders visiting the Great Wall at Badaling has been published in Beijing Friday.

Some of the pictures have never before been released to the public, according to the publisher, China Great Wall Publishing House.

More than 360 foreign state leaders and VIPs have been to the Great Wall at Badaling in Beijing suburb since 1954, including former U.S. presidents Richard M. Nixon and Ronald Reagan, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela.

The album records the history of China's diplomacy from a humaninterest perspective, the publisher noted.

The Great Wall at Badaling is part of the famous 5,000-kilometer ancient military installation built some 2,000 years ago,and is considered the best-preserved section. It was listed by theUnited Nations as a World Heritage site in 1987.
