The Taliban military forces appeared to have deserted the capital of Kabul at dawn Tuesday, witnesses said.

The Taliban military forces appeared to have deserted the capital of Kabul at dawn Tuesday, witnesses said.
According to reports from Kabul, columns of Taliban vehicles could be seen marching south, beginning Monday night, after a series of military offensives launched by opposition forces over the past four days.
Northern alliance forces began moving into the city in pickup trucks loaded with soldiers armed with rifles and rocket launchers, the reports said.
