Reception Marks 30th Anniversary of China-Rwanda Diplomatic Ties

The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) held a reception Monday to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Rwanda.

The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) held a reception Monday to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Rwanda.

Visiting Rwanda President Paul Kagame and Xu Jialu, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress attended the reception.

Addressing the reception, president of the CPAFFC Chen Haosu said the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Rwanda have maintained steady development in the past 30 years.

He added that recent years have also seen frequent exchange of high-level visits and people-to-people contacts.

Rwanda's Minister of Foreign Affairs Andre Bumaya said Rwanda and China have established solid friendship and cooperation since their establishment of diplomatic relations. He said Rwanda will stick to the one-China principle and wishes to strengthen its cooperation with China in social, economic and other spheres.
